Elysa provides remote and in-person pyschoeducational assessments for international schools. She also provides school psychology consultation services for parents, schools, and school teams. Collaboration with parents and educators is a key part of the assessment process, and services can be tailored to the needs of students and schools. Please contact Elysa to discuss your school's unique needs.

why might a student complete a psychoeducational assessment?

  • To determine if they would benefit from learning support services
  • To investigate cognitive/intellectual or processing strengths and weaknesses
  • To investigate suspected learning difficulties or to identify Specific Learning Disorders in reading, writing, or mathematics (i.e., dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia)
  • To examine difficulties with attention, executive functioning, or social-emotional functioning
  • For reassessment of educational programming and/or for taking external exams (e.g., IBDP, SAT)

Assessments are unique to the needs of the student and school

Assessments may include any of the following:

  • Parent, teacher, and student interviews
  • Review of educational records
  • Classroom observations (for in-person assessments only)
  • Cognitive/intellectual assessments, e.g., WISC-V, WAIS-5, CTONI
  • Processing assessments, e.g., TOMAL-2, CTOPP-2, Beery VMI 6
  • Academic/achievement assessments, e.g., KTEA-3, WIAT-4, EVT-3, PPVT-5
  • Behavior rating scales, e.g., BASC-3, BRIEF2, Conners 4, ABAS, Vineland-3
  • Feedback sessions with parents and/or teachers

what are remote assessments?

  • Remote assessments are conducted online using a video conferencing platform
  • Students complete assessments at their school in a quiet room and a teacher at their school, often a learning support teacher or teaching assistant, provides supervision
  • Digital assessment materials and paper test booklets are used
  • Most students in Grade 3 or above can complete a remote assessment
  • Remote assessments can be provided for individual students or for more than one student at a school

what are in-person assessments?

  • A visit is made to the school to work with students on-site
  • In-person assessments are suitable for students 6 years and older
  • In-person assessments are suitable for students with more significant attentional or behavioral needs who are unable to complete a remote assessment
  • In-person assessments may be appropriate when a school has multiple students needing assessments
